final rationale

Hanging Gardens of Babylon

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and as its location has never been established. There are many legends and myths as to its existence. Therefore, I wanted to animate the build of the hanging garden of Babylon temple to support a legend that the Gardens were a structure to allow the Neo-Babylonian rulers to pursue their very traditional and religious practices.

As a place of worship the temple is grand and towering structure, pointing to the gods, and the pinnacle of the structure being a tree. The tree represented beauty, strength, wisdom and eternal life. Therefore the layers of the structure signify the building of a life from the bottom mother earth layer, to the water providing nutrients and the Tree being the crowning glory.
The gardens disappearing in the sandstorm adds to the mystery of the Gardens.

With respect to sound, like many places of worship, temples are quiet so we can appreciate the natural surroundings. Therefore sound in the clip is to provide atmosphere only
