I wanted to create a simple story with a strong message. My main character is a homeless dog who is struggling to live through the days. He is very hungry and forages through a garbage bin. He eats something and immediately feels "different" and collapses. A homeless man who runs to the dog and helps him. I wanted to convey a message that now matter what, we need to show compassion and like the SPCA help rescue and rehabilitate.

By using a homeless man (instead of a person who has means) I feel it creates a stronger message. A homeless man, who has to find his own food lives on the street, you may think he wouldn't care. The fact that he runs over to care for the dog shows his humanity-as humans we need to be kind to people and animals.
